The Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Research and Development (R&D) Laboratory is a 4,000 square foot state-of-the-art electromagnetic research laboratory equipped to perform a variety of electromagnetic projects. The lab houses a 36-foot by 48-foot by 24-foot semi-anechoic chamber with the walls and ceiling loaded with 8-foot RF absorbing material. Attached to the main chamber are two 16-foot by 24-foot by 10-foot shielded enclosures, one of which is a control room housing the measurement equipment and another which is set up to perform conducted emission and antenna research. The semi-anechoic chamber meets the Federal Communication Commissions (FCC) as well as Industry Canada standards on site performance and all of the applicable equipment is run through a traceable calibration cycle. The FAU EMI R&D lab is an ISO 17025 qualification and has been accredited by the American Association for Laboratory (A2LA) as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB). The EMI R&D laboratory has retained research relationships with over forty industrial members for the past eighteen years. The laboratory continues to provide state-of-the-art capabilities applicable to the widest range of electromagnetic projects.
